These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the PairScan mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”) operated by PairScan (“we,” “our,” or “us”).

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using PairScan, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Age Requirement

PairScan recommends alcoholic beverages. You must be of legal drinking age in your jurisdiction to use the Service. By using PairScan, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. The Service

PairScan is a recommendation tool that uses artificial intelligence to suggest wine pairings based on restaurant menus. Our recommendations are suggestions only — we are not responsible for your purchasing decisions, and we do not guarantee the quality or availability of any wine or dish.

4. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to update it as needed. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

PairScan offers a free tier and a paid Premium subscription. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Billing, refunds, and cancellations are governed by the respective store's policies. Prices may vary by region.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer the AI models or algorithms
  • Scrape, crawl, or automate access to the Service
  • Upload content that infringes on third-party rights
  • Interfere with the operation of the Service

7. Intellectual Property

The PairScan name, logo, design, and all content on the Service are owned by us. Restaurant menus scanned by users remain the property of the respective restaurants. User-generated content (taste preferences, scan history) remains yours.

8. Limitation of Liability

PairScan is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to allergic reactions, dissatisfaction with recommended wines, or inaccurate menu readings.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
